All Smiles

I thought you would like to see my boys with their eyes open for a change! Here are two pictures of them all bright eyed. Also, yesterday was a big day here, Brennon smiled for the first time. It was the sweetest thing, I just melted. I was talking to him and he looked up at me and smiled the sweetest smile I have ever seen...I wanted to make sure it wasn't just gas so I went back a few minutes later and started talking to him and he smiled again! That boy has no idea the power that was in that smile! I tried my best to get a picture of it...but no luck!

Ok, so you all know that I am obsessed with watching these angels sleep, so here are two sweet little pictures of them sacked out! I don't know what I will do with my time once they start staying awake more...ha ha!!!!

First Turkey Day

Here are some pictures from our First Thanksgiving with our sons! We have so much to be thankful for this year! It is truly overwhelming for me to look at all of our blessings! Since we have to stay in with the boys through the spring, we had a nice, lazy day around the house and it gave me a good opportunity to dress them up in their cute little clothes....such handsome little men! I pray everyone's Thanksgiving was as blessed as ours..we are blessed beyond measure!

Snuggling

Here are a few cute pictures of my sweet babies snuggling during nap time! I LOVE to watch them sleep so most of the pictures are of them sleeping...which is not near as fascinating to everyone else!

Going to the doctor

We went to the doctor today and Cayden weighed 8.4 and Brennon weighed 7.12. They are getting so big. I got them dressed to go and went to get their bag and when I came back this is how they were laying....SO SWEET!!!!! I LOVE these two pictures!

Snoozing

Well, I can not believe it....my boys turned one month old yesterday! It blows my mind how fast time goes by. Here are two cute pictures of them snoozing together! I LOVE to watch them sleep....I guess that is why I do not get anything done..ha ha!

Sleepy boys

I love this picture of the boys! I was laying down with them this morning and laid them by each other and thought this was the sweetest thing I had ever seen! I just sit at times and watch them sleep......still in complete amazement that they are here!

Big boy Cayden

Here is a picture of Cayden holding his head up like such a big boy! I was holding him and he just lifted his little head...I am not helping him any! Sweet baby!

Boys Swinging

Here are a few pictures of my sweet boys swinging....they love their swings! Brennon noticed today that there were stars hanging from the mobile on his swing and he just sat watching it. It was so cute to see him discovering new things(he obviously wasn't discovering anything when I took this picture)! It is amazing to see how much they change and how quickly they change. It is so hard for me to believe they have been here almost a month! Brennon is wearing the striped outfit...the one that is WAY too big!

I just went in to check on my sweet babies and they were sleeping and I could not resist taking a picture of them because they looked so peaceful! They really look like little angels laying there! There is not a sweeter sight! Brennon is the one with one hand under his chin and the other over his head!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!

The boys got all dressed up in their MSU outfits in celebration of the big victory over Alabama! No doubt they are the cutest bulldogs around! Cayden is wearing the blue jeans and Brennon is wearing the khakis!!!! How funny is the picture to the left....like Cayden is knocking Brennon out!

Big boy outfits

This is their big boy outfits! Brent and I bought these outfits for them the day we found out it was two boys! Time flew by, seems like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant! I can only imagine how fast it will go by as these boys start to grow up! We will savor each moment! As I am typing this, I can hear them on the monitors and I am overwhelmed with emotion. I have never known a love like this. I feel as though my life truly started on October 23rd. My life is fully complete now! God's grace is so clear and evident through my marriage and now my two perfect children!

Brennon and Cayden

This is the picture when we first came home with both boys and we put them in the pack n play together and this is the photo we caught! It was so sweet! It has been so fun and amazing to watch them respond to each other. When one makes a noise the other does, when one gets upset the other gets upset. Brennon never really cries but he will get a little fussy! Cayden is the one on the right with his eyes open! Aren't they the cutest things you have ever seen?

Proud Parents

Here are few pictures of Brent and I with our precious miracles! I am truly amazed each day at my wonderful husband. He has been so wonderful and supportive through this! I fall in love with him all over again each time I see him with our sons! My cup truly runneth over!!!!

Home Together

Cayden coming home

Cayden was finally able to join us at home on November 6th. What a perfect day! I have never known a feeling like that....having my whole family together finally! These angels have filled a void in me that I never even knew existed! God's timing is amazing.....these precious babies were worth every second of heartache and disappointment. In that first moment when I saw them laying there, everything else faded.....I knew that these were the PERFECT sons I had waited all these years for.

Brennon coming home

October 31st was Brennon's big day to come home. It was a wonderful day but a little sad since we were leaving Cayden. There could not have been two prouder parents anywhere! We just sat staring at him and smiling at every move he made! He did so great his first night, I had to wake him up to eat. He is so laid back, he never gets upset. He is such a joy!

First Family Photo

Here is our first "family" photo! The nurses in NICU were incredible and so thoughtful...it was their idea to take this picture! We were so blessed with such amazing nurses taking care of our sons! Brent is holding Cayden and I am holding Brennon....I will try to make sure to always put which one is which. I do not think they look that much alike but they are changing every day!!!

Here is the first photo of the little men! Their daddy is so proud! It was such a wonderful and emotional experience. I had no idea I could love so deeply. The second I heard them cry and laid eyes on them, my whole world changed!!! Brent was so wonderful through the delivery! I could not have done it without him. I love this picture! 8-)

The Shorter Family Blog

OK, well I can not believe it...but I have now entered the Blog world....who would have ever imagined???! I thought this would be a great way for everyone to keep up with our little miracles and see all the new pictures of them....actually this idea came from some encouragement of my special friend, Kim.....thanks for the help Kim! I am sure there will be precious pictures of our little men every day so this will be easier than me emailing pictures every day! I hope you enjoy watching our precious babies!
