HOW can it have been 2 years already???? My life has changed so much over the last two years and every day I wake up to my two sweet miracles, I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt it is better than the day before. I sit at times in total amazement that my heart can hold all the love I have for them and yet I love them more every day I have with them. This birthday was so much fun...they are really becoming little men. They were so excited about everything and really into all the presents and the decorations. I think Brent and I had as much fun as the boys did.

This is how it started...I laid the boys down in their beds for their afternoon nap......and THIS is how I found them when I walked in!!! YES, they BOTH learned to get in and out the baby bed. So I thought I would leave them and surely they would just wear out....

but nope, this is how I found the room after listening to the destruction for over and hour..........

So Brent and I spent the afternoon transitioning their beds into toddler beds. We did our normal night time routine and after an hour and a half, this is how we found the sweet angels. This is seriously one of the sweetest things I have ever seen......we just sat and stared at them

Today was a VERY big day for Brennon...well for that matter, me too! Brennon got his first haircut today! He was SUCH a big boy and did great! I on the other hand, well, we won't even go there..haha! I did fine until it was over and I looked at him all grown looking and that was it for me....I lost it!!! I could not believe how old my babies were getting and this was one of the first big milestones for them! I never dreamed these little things would have SO MUCH power over me. I have never known more, pride, fear, sadness, happiness and joy all at one time..all over a haircut! 8-) Even more than yesterday, or the day before or more than 19 months ago, I love and adore EVERY thing about being a mom.

We had a little friend wander up last week...well, poor thing....he was wandering up I am sure- but Tito seemed to think he was some kind of new ball. So after he had been tormented for who knows how long, I rescued him and put him in a box for the boys to see the next morning....they were so cute-Brennon enjoyed it much more than Cayden but still they both were so excited when they first saw him.

Since today was so hot I thought playing in the water would be a fun way for the boys to spend their afternoon outside. Cayden was having more fun in the mud and running around the driveway but Brennon was fascinated with the waterhose. After a few minutes of watching my little man just stare at the water and then touch it, I started thinking about how I let life get me so busy that I do not even stop and enjoy the small things in life. As I was watching Brennon's fascination I looked up at the gorgeous sky (look how pretty it is in the pictures) and I stopped and enjoyed and savored it. I thought how magnificently gorgeous our Mighty Father created every detail of this planet and I stood there overwhelmed and in awe of His creation! How amazing it is that our children can bless us in so many ways and part of God's amazing creation is that THEY are the ones who continually teach us to slow down and pay attention to Him and His creation!!!

Last Day of "School"

Here are some pictures of my handsome men on their last day at Pinelake. I know how crazy this is going to sound, but it was such an emotional day for me. I went to pick them up from their class and just lost it because they will move up to the "big boy" room when they go back in the fall and it hit me like a ton of bricks....my sweet babies are big boys now. I thought of all the things that will change when we go back....they won't be in a stroller, they won't have their little morning nap, they will be doing crafts, they will sit at big kid tables, etc and I was overwhelmed with the thoughts of "where does the time go?" It has literally flown by, seems like yesterday I was pregnant with them. I say this all the time and it is like every day gets faster but before I know it, they will be grown. It was yet again, a reminder to me to slow down, enjoy every second with them, live every day of my life like it is the last one I will have with them. These little angels have taught me so much in their little 19 months of life, I can't wait to see all the things they will teach me next year! Enough for now...if I don't stop now this could go on for days!

Christmas Magic

OK, I LOVE Christmas...I love all the silly traditions our family has, I love the way my house looks and smells with all the decorations and the tree, I love all the lights, I love the hustle and bustle of everything, I LOVE wrapping presents but my favorite thing is picking out the tree. I love that the excitement starts the morning after Thanksgiving...going and finding that perfect tree...well, this year did not go as planned. We did not get to get the tree the day after because it was nasty and raining and I did not want to get the boys out and then the Saturday after Thanksgiving it cleared up-until we were on the way to get the tree-so no pictures-no family all together picking out the perfect tree-it was more like find one quick so we can keep the boys out of the rain...
Before I had the boys I could throw up the tree and have the whole house decorated in a matter of hours-my, how things have changed. It took me two days just to get the lights on the tree and all the ornaments on and the poor boys had to stay locked up like this....begging to come out!

but was it ever worth it, once I finished and let them come in the den to see the tree and all the other decorations...

(YEP that is an octagon around it...it is Brennon and Cayden proofed..ha ha)

It was ALL worth it and those feelings about the holidays grew about 1000 times. These pictures don't do justice to the expressions on my sweet angels faces. Brennon kept giggling and looking at everything and Cayden just wanted to touch everything. Every time they walk by the lights or the tree, they start pointing and smiling. Now that I have them and am blessed enough to watch Christmas through their eyes...it truly is MAGICAL!!! It has taken on a whole different meaning to me! I pray all of you have a Christmas just as magical!

The boys are loving all this big boy food they are eating now. Here are a few picture of them eating at a restaurant with us. As you can tell, they LOVED it-especially Brennon, he could not get it in his mouth fast enough.

One year ago, you two brought a sweetness and joy into my life that I can not even begin to describe or find words for. I waited so long for you and traveled such a rough, lonely road to get to you..but now that you are here, I can not even remember an ounce of the heartache I felt before I found out I was pregnant with you. You have brought so much happiness to me and your daddy. You will never know how much we love and adore you. I look at these first pictures of you and can not believe a year of your life has already passed by. It makes my heart ache yet it makes it fill with pride. The first time I held you in my arms, I could not catch my breath I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I felt like I had waited my whole life to hold you. At that moment I knew it was possible for your heart to beat outside of your body..because you two became my whole heart. I see how quick this year passed and it is a reminder to me to enjoy every second of your sweet lives. I am a different person because of you, I am forever changed. I am the luckiest person in the world because I get to be your mommy. You two truly are miracles. You will never know how much your daddy and I wanted, ached, yearned and prayed for you. I picked them up at Target b/c Brennon always wants my keys and I thought it would be fun for him. Well, as you see they both wanted the keys. We left for Florida after the party for a vacation and the first stop we had to make was Target to get another set of keys!!!! Oh, it begins early!

First, don't worry-YES, there are new pictures, however you will have to forgive me because this post comes with a lot of emotion...so bear with me OR you can just scroll on down to the pictures 8-)
The longer I am a mom, the more I KNOW I was created solely to play this role. I LOVE being a mom, there is not one thing I don't truly adore about being a mom. When I found out I was pregnant, I started reading all the books-preparing myself and getting educated on being the best mom I could...one of those things being getting the boys to use a cup. I read in several books that it was good to introduce the cup to them around 6 months...so that I did. I will never forget one day saying I was going to start them using a cup at 6 months and my mother in law, amusingly looking at me said "we'll see"--no doubt the look/voice of experience...so, it goes without saying, either the people who wrote those books had children that were geniuses and must have finished college by age 15 or they had no children at all...because my boys could not have been less interested in holding their own bottle, much less using a cup. I wondered if I was doing something wrong or if I should try something different because here we were at 11 months and they still were not really interested....and then, I was putting their dishes in the sink and I look up and see this!!!!!!!

As I looked up in amazement, through the tears streaming-I realized everything about being a mom in that moment....LET THEM LEAD! The world is so beautifully innocent through their eyes and my days are so much more glorious because of them, so I just need to sit back, enjoy and let my angels lead. They know when they are ready-not me, they know when they have enough confidence to tackle something new-I don't! The books were very helpful to me, however, there are so many things that I will not and can not be prepared for-the only thing I can do is enjoy every minute of every day with them...and let them lead me in this journey of motherhood!
I know some of you are like "it's just drinking out of a cup" but it was a pivotol moment for me. I don't know where all this emotion came from today..whether it is the fact that my babies are almost ONE, or that I was so overwhelmed with pride at them drinking from their cups, or that they can drink their milk by themselves now and they don't need me for that or the fact that I truly had no idea I could love like this. I loved those boys the first time I laid eyes on them but there is no comparison to the love I feel now-I know that love will continue to grow every day of their life so I hope as life with them gets more hectic that I will always remember this day, this moment I had with them. The beauty in being a mom is not planning everything, trying to make things happen my way but in letting them lead, letting them remind me of all the little, special things in life, letting them be them and encouraging and supporting them every step of the way. My precious miracles..they have forever changed who I am!

The Good Stuff

I know it has been a while...sorry!!!! I have been spending every second I can with my angels. I have been blessed with a new job that allows me to be with the boys SO MUCH more! I am loving it...the first day I did not have to leave them at all, I woke up and walked into their room and cried. I savor every second with them and every new experience I get to enjoy with them. I am so thankful to Brent for the sacrifices he is making to allow this to happen. I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man...a man who is truly perfect for me.
Any way, one thing that is really important to me with all this new time is to make sure Brent gets to see the boys as much as possible since this is his busiest time of the year. I know it kills him to miss out on seeing them so much! So, we try to do lunch with him as much as we can...so here you go...a glimpse at my beautifully, perfect life....lunch with daddy!
